Wedding Dress Measurements

How does measuring work? In order for us to make a dress you’ll love, we will need your specific measurements. Wedding dresses are not made in the sizes you see in stores, so in order to get the correct size for your dress we will need measurements. Which measurements are needed: The most popular measurements are bust, waits and hips. They are a few others when making a custom dress, but will start with the basic. Bust: This will be a measurement around your chest – across the widest point of your bust. Wear a comfy bra, the tape measure should be place under your arms, around your back, and across the widest part of your chest. Waist: Your natural waist – i.e the skinniest part of your waist – this is where your waistband will sit. Waist Teasuring Tip: place your hands on your hips and tilt to the side, the crease that forms on your side is where you’ll find the smallest part of your waist. Hips: This should be the widest part of your hips. Will you still need alterations? We use your measurements to try to get the fit as close as possible. Even with a great fit, you may still need some adjustments and we take care of them at your fitting, to get it absolutely perfect. If your dress has a train you may want a bustle. Do

I need a bustle? Most wedding dresses come with a train, which is lovely when walking down the aisle. But if you want to party in comfort and style at your reception, you’ll want to add a bustle to pull your dress up off the floor. Our dresses include a bustle, just make sure to specify the type you like, when placing order.
